By the time of his death in 1890, Marjollet was the oldest practicing photographer in the United States. He was hired by Charles D Fredricks when Fredricks was in partnership with Jeremiah Gurney at 349 Broadway (1853-1855). When Fredricks opened his own studio at 585 Broadway, Nicholas Marjollet followed him and remained in his employment until his death.
